Venice is a very special place for me. My first visit was as a student, studying art history. Returning years later was to revisit my year abroad, and all that meant.
The first time it was ten dollars a day, and staying in Youth Hostels. Now the hotels and meals are nicer, but the beauty of Venice is still oveewhelming to me.

My last visit was in November of 2008, the streets were packed, and yet there was always just enough room to stand back and enjoy the view.

Something I do wherever I go is visit the Churches. I love to sit in a pew, and watch worshipers slip in from the city streets,
to find solace and prayer in the sanctuary of a church.
The churches of Venice are sumptuous in their art and architecture, but serve the purpose of being a place of worship and spiritual connection.
