Storms on the Neck
Hurricane Bob, 1998
Bob arrived with the threat of coming right down the center of Buzzards Bay, which would have put it on top of the house.
The storm arrived, and we had winds of 70 plus miles an hour. Tress blew over, boats piled up on bridges, the street flooded, but once the eye of the storm arrived it was over. The water resided, and then nothing, just lots of damage. A week went by with no electricity, but over time life went on.
There have been plenty of floods before and after. It is one of the things about living on the coast. I've actually gotten quite used to it.
